Long story short,,,
A co-worker asked me,,
"What's a good pellet rifle for me and my 7 year old son?"

I had a gamo Recon (600 fps) hanging on my wall,,,
Complete with 2 years of dust on it's surface.

I said, "Take this rifle and see if you two enjoy shooting.",,,
I also supplied them with a tin of pellets, some paper targets.

I made a 3" x 5" Card with the Four Rules of Safety for his son,,,
He had his boy learn them and then they went to the back yard to play.

He came in next week and was glowing,,,
His boy can recite the Four Rules,,,
And actually applies them.

I got to thinking,,,
I never shoot that rifle,,,
So I wrote a bill of transfer to his boy.

Today my friend brought this in for me.

I have no kids of my own,,,

So I tend to "uncle" for my friends kids.

I just love the drawing,,,
That's a severe wedgy he gave his dad though. :eek:

Good job. I also like to give back a little to the sports I love that have given me so much enjoyment and relaxation, be it shooting, hunting, fishing, camping ect and getting a youngster involved is keeping the traditional values like shooting, hunting, fishing and camping alive and strong.
 
That sounds great! That was very generous of you, and you definitely deserve the warm and fuzzy feeling!

Yes , that is a great feeling ! I have gifted three lads .22s so far , and I'll do it again next chance I get .
 
I am in trouble with the young lad's Mother though,,,

Not for giving her son a pellet rifle,,,
But for getting the Dad hooked on shooting them.

He's out looking at some of the real high-dollar air rifles for himself,,,
Last I spoke with him he was considering one of those rifles that uses a compressed air tank.

Sheesh!

I've created a monster.
