im extremely tempted to get a lanber

Like I said, I really enjoyed trap shooting. And since I am not really used to any gun yet, I thought I might go ahead and get something dedicated. I know my 870 worked for me, but in all honesty, I'm looking for a good excuse to get an over under.

MJRW,

I bought a Lanber model 87 last week, but I don't get to take it home until Saturday. ;-( If I get a chance to take it to the range before I leave town for the holidays I'll post a review.

CDNN has the best prices around, if you are going to buy.

Go for it, I've had my model 87 for about year, shot a around a thousand rounds through it and haven't had a single problem.

I was in the same boat, I had an 870, shooting trap and starting to do skeet, really wanted an O/U and got my lanber and my 870 been sitting in the case. It's a good gun.

My advice is to stick with the 870 for a year, THEN consider adding a new toy. By then, you'll have a better idea of what fit and features you need.

I can identify with the urge for a new toy, but you WILL be better off waiting...

I can identify. I've been interested in the Lanber for months now. I plan on getting it before I've ever shot trap or skeet. If I don't like the games at least I'll have another great toy. Heck, 2 shots for 12ga isn't bad for most HD situations so I may stretch it into other areas other than just fun at the range. Anyway, finances right now are tight so unfortunately I can't get it now, but I hope to have it within a few months (how long have I been saying that:( ).

I am tempted to get a Lanber too! For skeet and trap, that is. These folks do not seem to have a site, do they?

Stay Safe ;)

I have seen a lot of skeet shooters and hunters in the range with Lanbers and they seem to be satisfied with them. Their price is tempting. I have handled one and the action is tight, but people say that actions' feel improve over time

Stay Safe ;)

McIntosh likes the Lanber, calling it the best entry level O/U around. My hesitancy has more to do with discouraging folks from doing the Magic Shotgun chase.

If I t'were going to get a stackbarrel, I'd take a good hard look at the Lanber before anything else I know of.

MJRW, if you want to see a Lanber up close, I've seen a couple at local gun shows. They do seem like quality for the money. There's a show in Bealeton this weekend, and two Richmond shows in early January.
