I'm addicted

On my way home from picking up my paycheck for the past week i decided to stop into my local corner pawn shop. Just to browse a little, first thing i noticed was a somewhat beat up enfield and i was immediately drawn to it. Hefting it in my hands it felt perfect but the insulting price of 469 drove me to put it down. Then i made my biggest mistake i picked up a smith and wesson model 10-8 blued steel with hogue rubber grips and I fell in love.

Its a little beat up on the outside it could use a little TLC, but I performed the revolver checkout and everything came out great very tight lock up much like my 586 I bought at a pawn shop last year. The guy wanted 369 which i thought was way high but after some negatiating i got him down to 300 and I was still hesitant then he mentioned 10 month layaway and i pullled out cash then and there. lol Damn pawn shop attendant taking all my money. I know I didn't get the greatest deal but at least in my area they are not going for cheap in the 400's, so how did you think I did guys?

10 years ago I'd say you got taken but $300ish is about the going rate around here. I've seen beaters go for $250 and a few that were tagged well over $350 so seems like you're right in there. Too bad no one around here still has police trade in on the Model 10s or they'd be a whole lot cheaper.

It's easy to get hung up on Model 10's. There are enough variations and barrel length combinations that there is always "Oh, I don't have one like that" out there.

$300.00 seems to be the going rate for a run of mill example. I've seen them for more than twice that for a pristine, early example, with box and papers.
