I'm A Complete Nervous Wreck... Anybody Else?

The wait is making me a nervous wreck. I so badly want to see the changes begin, this country prove how smart they really are, that they possess the vision to regain their rightful place as the voice of this country.

I hope it's not just a daydream...

The American voter has erected the most awesome society this planet has ever seen. We routinely correct mistakes made in moments of weakness. I trust the voter to make the right decisions and correct errors of the past.

Calm down, shoot off a box of .22 at the range, go home and watch the returns.

I'm completely calm, becuase I know that no matter who gets elected the government will be run at the direction of lobbyists for big-soft-money campaign contributors. We average folks will continue to bend over and take it, because we only have a "choice" that is no choice.

If you're expecting major social revisions as soon as the new administration (whichever it is) gets into office, don't hold your breath. Four more years of the same $hit in a different bag.

I'm ready to upchuck my lunch. I'm surrounded by co-workers praising Gore and Nader in a rather impromptu gathering that just happens to be right by my computer. ARGH!

Put a frag on your desk, pull the pin, run out to get lunch. The stink ought to clear by the time you return.

This kind of thinking has elements of truth to it, but overall it is just plain incorrect. To say that there will be no difference in our lives regardless of who becomes president is misguided at best.

Aside from legislation that the president signs/vetoes, a LOT of policy trickles down from him through unelected people: attorney general, secretary of HUD (just look at the BS we've gotten from Clinton through Andrew Cuomo), Sec of State, etc.

Policy will always be affected by greed/money/powerlust/etc. But to throw up your hands and say "Bush, Gore? It doesn't matter" is flat out wrong.

Vote Bush/Cheney!

Anxiety attack here. I figure if Bush wins we'll see a return to honor and wisdom in the White House. If Gore wins, we'll have another four years of lies and demagogy. Quite a contest.

Emptied the JD Black last week. No beer in the house. The Valium’s all gone.
Immodium AD and Pepto are both history. No Rolaids left.

How will I get through this with two Tums and three ounces of Mylanta?
(Whimper....)

Wait! What’s this??? COOKING SHERRY!!

(It ain’t much but I’m desperate!!! )

Election jitters? No, not at all. Why do you ask? ;)

(Choke, gag, sweet wine, yuck!, gargle, swallow..... :( )

Scared! You betcha! First time out of ten presidential elections that I'm scared of the alternative, scared of what he and his partners in treason will do to this nation.

In 1964 the media rumored that Goldwater would get us into war. LBJ won. What happened?

This time I'm afraid of the prospect of war, both foreign and domestic, if Gore wins.

Yes. Interviews with Bush on Fox News Channel and Cheney on Rush indicate they are confident. Hope they are not just putting up a good front. The prospect of a Gore presidency is just too frightening to contemplate.

Yup. The ol' sphincter's got a grip on the seat cushion. It takes a coworker to help me get unstuck to go to the loo.

Do you think any of the exit polling being reported is just flat-out fabricated to help one candidate or another? Might be, dunno. I'd'a never suspected before, but now I don't trust nuthin' or nobody. Except Britt Hume.

I'm a wreck, and I'm not even an American. With the power of the internet It feels like I ought to be voting too.

In some regards the U.S. elections are the second most important elections in the world for me, after my native country elections.

Will we see with Gore for example, carry on "cruise missle diplomacy" or will Dubya draw a "new line in the sand" and get away from the UN inspired madnesss of "peace-making ops".

I know which I [not to mention Chinese
Embassey's and Sudanese Drug manufacturers] would prefer.

Gore supports "peace keeping" troops, and Bush wants to bring them home and beef up the military.

I was really nervous yesterday. But, today I am not nervous because it is out of my hands. I voted, I did my part, and now there is nothing to do but wait and see. The Bible says that people get the leaders that they deserve, and God puts them in place. I sure pray that we don't deserve Gore. The way our nation was acting, I think we deserved Clinton, but I hope that his experience slapped some sense into us.

Urgh. I left the computer lab early (Yeah, I know I should be doing the Chalice tutorials...)
Since then I've been sitting in front of my computer alternating between TFL and cnn.com.
On cnn.com I've been hitting my browser's refresh button about every 10 seconds hoping to get an update on the number of electoral votes.
In the near future, I plan to break open a couple of Doc. Otis lemon things...might calm me down...
