The illegal alien question/problem is producing some really heated threads and responses, here on TFL. Blatant racism has surfaced its ugly head. Unfounded accusations of racism are rampant as well.
There have been not a few posts of newstories, that tend to evoke emotional responses from the general membership. Several threads have been closed and a few are on the verge of being closed.
It is a contentious issue. I understand that. What I fail to understand is why we cannot have rational discussions about this issue.
To that end (rational discussion), I am going to start killing threads and or merging them. You want a place to discuss the problem? One thread will be allowed. You want a place to discuss the (possible) solutions? One thread will be allowed. You want to post newstories related to the illegal alien situation? One thread will be allowed.
Don't be surprised if you start a thread and it gets deleted, closed or merged with one of the three main threads. No warning and no explanation will be provided. Don't ask.
You want to rant and paint with the broad brush? You feel the need to make racist statements? You feel the need to attack other members simply because they post something you do not like or agree with? Don't be surprised if your post is deleted or your posting privileges are revoked. No warning, no reprieve.
There will be those of you that feel I'm being perhaps too heavy-handed. Remember, you came to TFL of your own free will. You agreed to abide by the Forum Rules when you joined. You are equally free to leave of your own free will. That will preserve your membership, should you decide to return at some future date. Some of you will choose not to abide by this and you will be banned.
