Im searchin for a adjustable or even a plain replacement rear sight with a set screw for a Cannick 55 / Triststar 120. Since my rear sight isnt the tightest fiting and likes to creep. Id also like to know if the CZ 75b rear sights are an exact fit in this respect. I searched the web today and could not find one to save my life. With the exeption of Cajun Gun Works nothin against CGW but their piece is alittle too costly for me and I thought Id check before I commit to such a unit. PS is there even such thing as an non permanent adhesive for dovetail sights . The factory rear sight works fine when lined up correct at 7yds it will put em all in the same hole or darn close after my arms tire. I was hoping I could get one of the many CZ after market ,hell even factory sights to fix my pistola.

Sorry, can't help with the CZ/Canik thing. I will say however that any gunsmith can tighten up that sight, or you can simply dimple the dovetail flat with a punch which makes a raised crater that snugs up the sight when pushed back into place.

Not sure if permanent Lok-Tite would hold up to the recoil, maybe someone else has experience with it. worth a try at least. I have heard of lots of people putting a dimple in the dovetail as well.

I have to agree with Chris. If you dimple the botttom of the dovetail that will tighten up the fit on the sight. I have done it before and it works.

I guess I should get my terminology corect, which part would I be drilling the rear nonadjust sight or the channel it slides in ? Is there a link to this mod ?

I couldn't find a youtube when I responded last nght, but I found some pics of a guy doing it on a 1911, I try to find the thread again in a lil bit

Not drilling -- dimpling.

No holes drilled. Just take a prick punch and make a punch mark or two. The impact of the point being driven down into the steel raises a tiny crater around it. That's generally enough additional friction to hold a sight.

Some of the modern 1911 makers use red Loctite on their rear sights, and those babies don't come out without dynamite. Personally, I'd try the dimple plus a dab of blue Loctite.

Take a center punch and dimple the bottom of the channel that the sight fits into. You could also take a cheap feeler gauge and cut what ever size shim you need to tighten it up. I wouldn't loctite it though unless you never intend to adjust it again.

Ok I get the dimple mod now thanks. I called TriStar this aft and spoke to one of their rep/techs and explained my situ and I was told any of the CZ 75 aftermark sights should fit right in. Thats my future poa in the mean time he also said some blue loktite should tighten her up wich is A OK with me since beside it creepin theirs nothin wrong with rear sight, when lined up corectly they all go thru the same hole. This is my first CZ type platform.... So far so good with the Cannick 55.
