If you could go back in time....when/where?

One of the morning talk shows on the local radio station just asked this: "We want to know if you were to get in a time machine and you could go to ANY time (in your life or just a time in general)....where would you go????"

And the first two replies for so were both firearms (mine was the second) related so I thought I'd ask the same question here.......as per TFL rules, keep your responses firearm related.

BTW, my answer was: "I'd like to go to Tombstone to watch the shootout at the OK Corral....I'd like to see first hand, who all used what firearms"

I would want to go back to around 1897, so I could enlist and be present for both the Philippine Insurrection and a member of the China Relief Expedition.

I would like to go back to 1923 Germany so that when Hitler was arrested I could make sure he was executed. Thus saving millions of lives.

I actually have this thought occur to me at least once a week

Seriously !

I wish I could go back and buy more HK P7s

I wish I could go back in time, get the whole line of P7s in 9mm and 380 AUTO and .40 cal, the M10 and M13 and the P7M8 Longslide, and I would have gotten two copies of everything.

I also would have gotten that HK 94 that I kept telling myself was too expensive.

I also would have gotten the Ruger Police 9. Gosh I wish they hadn't stopped making those. The 9mm carbines today are so ugly.

Not as big a deal but I would have picked up the American Derringer DA38 in 9mm I guess I could still buy one of those even though they don't make them in 9mm anymore.

I like 9mm stuff :D

I also would not have gotten rid of my Colt Mustang and BHP. :(

See I would go back in time and the future me would talk to the me of the past and I would say "Don't get rid of your Colt Mustang, it's a neat little gun and you're going to miss it terribly"

And "Don't get rid of your Browning High-Power, it's a classic and even though you love your HK P7M8, you'll miss the Browning someday, so just keep it"

As stupid as this sounds, I once had a dream that I can’t seem to forget. I went back to the Civil War era with my Remington 700 and what seemed like an unlimited supply of modern smokeless ammo for it. I mustered in with my GGG Grandfather (93rd Illinois Infantry Company B) and he shot my rifle, I didn‘t even carry one. Needless to say, the war only lasted a few months instead of years. Actually fewer lives lost because it ended quicker.

Dallas, Nov. 22, 1963 with several high resolution digital cameras. One each for the grassy knoll, book depository, bridge, sewer etc.

To the first battle of Bull Run, with a few crates of SKS rifles & pre-loaded stripper clips--maybe some Mosin Nagant rifles just for added irony. (after taking a double dose of cypro)

Alternatively, to on board any of the hijacked planes on 9/11 with my XD45, a spare mag or two, a really excellent defense attorney, and a GPS tracking device swallowed.

If I could possibly convince Washington, Jefferson and those guys to phase out slavery over a 10 to 20 year period starting around 1790 or so, and strengthen the equal protection clauses of the core constitution to include minorities after explaining why not doing so is a bad idea...dear GOD the number of problems we'd dodge.

Including the whole concept of gun control.
