If you are on TFL, join the NRA

I am not completely satisfied with the NRA, but this year it is MANDATORY that we send a pro-gun message to the world.

JOIN the NRA

No namby pamby excuses. Just do it.......or....if you prefer, lose your guns.

Another "Mulberry Bush" but with so many new members, probably one we should go 'round again.

How's it go? "The NRA is our shield, GOA (or JPFO) is our sword."

Just think of the NRA as the first line of defense. If you don't like 'em, JOIN AND SEND THEM A LETTER AS A MEMBER!!! Better yet, become a Life Member and VOTE!!

Then join GOA or JPFO if you feel the need.

And just remember, every time the NRA gets stronger, it gives Schumer and Finkstien fits. Think of it as contributing to their ulcers.

Flame away.

Also a mention to join the second ammendment foundation www.saf.org and to send money to citezens of america www.citizensofamerica.org if you have time listen to their commercials theya re very powerful.

"We are fast approaching the stage of the ultimate inversion: the stage where the government is free to do anything it pleases, while the citizens may act only by permission; which is the stage of the darkest periods of human history, the stage of rule by brute force."

--Ayn Rand, in "The Nature of Government"

My dad is an NRA member. So, he gets the magazine they put out, America's First Freedom. I read it everytime it's arrived. Problem. They keep supporting Project Exile. I also read in there how the gov't needs to enforce the Gun Control Act of '68. The only assault style weapon in the magazine ever, is in an ad for optics. What's the deal? I wrote to the NRA about supporting Project Exile, they told me that they are working towards repealing all gun laws! I don't get it. I think what the NRA wants is to disarm America without bloodshed. And you all are fooled. Or maybe you are not fooled...

OK, once more:

Exile is a scam. Not on us, on the grabbers. It's a short-term stall tactic that polls well with the dumbest segment of the voting population, and acts to prevent new Fed gun laws from coming down the pipe. Under the current house/senate/prez combination, rolling back gun control is impossible BUT the NRA/GOP coalition is managing to halt new gun control dead in it's tracks. The fact that they managed that after the post-Columbine hype while outnumbered 2:1 is simply incredible, a masterful display of down'n'dirty power politics.

So what are they waiting for?

Either a house/senate/prez combination at least 2:1 pro-RKBA that could roll back gun control, or better yet validation of the "individual right" view of the 2nd Amendment from the US Supremes that would change the whole nature of the debate from "how fast can we ban all guns?" to "what level of gun control is allowable without violating a basic guaranteed freedom?".

Bush could help us with either goal. Until then, Project Exile is bad long term strategy that will need repeal eventually, but it's killer short-term tactics helping to prevent major "losses of legislative ground".

Keep the faith.

Jim

Jim, I am not trying to be a smart a$$ but please lead me to the proof that exile is a scam. I would love to here that GOA, JPFO, Brassroots and others have all been pulling the wool over the gun grabbers eyes but what I see is the GOA and others angry at the NRA because they are calling for enforcement of unconstitutional laws. I would think that the NRA would let some of the folks in the other major pro-self defense crowd know what is going on. You would think that if it where true they would jump on the band wagon immediately.

I mean no disrespect, I just want to believe this. I'm from Missouri so you will just have to Show Me.

paranoia is a pretty good thing to have when they're actually out to get You!

It inevitably ticks me off when someone has literally thousands of dollars worth of firearms and yet is too f******g cheap to join the NRA because "they sold out on us".
BS - you just won't spend a dime to protect the assets you have accumulated. Have a "son" in law like that.
YMMV

Those of you who dislike the NRA, think of them as like a labor union. The bosses are corrupt and you probably don't agree with their politics. But they do get you what you want and look out for your interests.

I have belonged to unions, and used them when I had to, even though I despised the Union heirarchy. Sometimes you have to sleep with the enemy to get what you want.

Besides, if you can't afford the $35 for membership, someone on TFL will sponsor you.

To send a clear message, NRA needs to hit the 4 million mark by Novemeber. I just joined last month.

Like it or not, when the media talks about guns, pro or con, it talks in terms of NRA. I have never seen a quote or interview, or financial figures, or membership numbers, on any other pro gun group. Shummer, Fienstien, et al don't care about GOA. They are focused on beating the NRA.

To me, going GOA instead of NRA is kinda like voting third party - you might soothe your conscience that you didn't compromise your ideals, but you've not advanced your cause.

(pulling on my Nomex undies now ...)

Welcome, RH!

We must all come together or we will lose it all...

Memberships make great gifts too.
So far this year, I have given three out to my friends. I also have signed up my wife and 3 daughters.
Hey, if every member signed up just one other person...well, you do the math.

Tell me when that strategy, Mr. March, has ever been used by the winning side. To all you that say, if we don't support the NRA, we will lose it all, you must be cowards at heart. What it will come down to unless most of you who believe in the NRA, turn in your weapons without a fight, is a real fight. And any delay in this just weakens us. I truly believe that the NRA wants to take your weapons, they just want to do it without bloodshed. But bloodshed is the ONLY way we will win. If you can't see that you are cowardly, or don't care.

By the way, I'm not cheap, but I am dedicated. I'm also tired of the rhetoric. I also will NOT lose my guns. You may, but I will NOT! If this hurts your delicate sensibilities, so be it. Go ahead and trust in your Project Exile traitors; you might just end up fighting the war with your Cowboy action shooting guns. Or bb guns. Or muskets, or whatever it is that the NRA supports us having.

Been a member for 4 years now, sure they dont always say the 'right' thing, but their hearts are in the right place. Also signing up my brother-in-laws and father-in-law if they want it.

As I understand it project exile is about enforcing a select few laws. Those laws that make it a federal felony to use a gun in the commission of some crimes. What do you people see wrong with that. It's working and if it works well enough, just maybe the general public will stop listening to these gun-grabbers.

So I suppose all you guys against project exile have a better way to lawfully curb gun violence.

Peace...
Keith

KAM: What do I see wrong with that? Nothing, if Neal Knox were President of the US, Larry Pratt the Attorney General, and Congress populated with present and former members of the NRA's board of directors.

In the real world, I see that half of the gun owners in the country, and probably most of the 2nd amendment activists, could be gotten on felony charges, if the government had the resources to do the investigating, and find up what we were REALLY up to.

In the real world, I see that it will be our ENEMIES, and not our friends, who decide which laws get enforced, against who.

In the real world, I see us losing all credibility in interpreting the 2nd amendment, as we demand the enforcement of laws which violate it.

In the real world, I see one more nail hammered into the coffin of federalism and limited government, as we demand the enforcement of federal laws concerning matters which only states have any proper jurisdiction over.

Aside from that, no, I don't see any problems with Project Exile.
