and said you can buy any brand new, current production pistol, what would you buy? Let's say this would be a SHTF pistol, and the one and only sidearm you could have for the rest of your life. You don't get to keep the difference and spend it on ammo or anything if you get a cheap gun.

Colt stainless commander.
I've always wanted a Colt 1911 & I like the stainless better than blue.
Not a fan of the series 80 firing system but, this isn't a perfect world.
