If NFA registry closed, can I get a B&T subgun?

You could buy a B&T TP9 pistol and then register it as an SBR. You'd get everything except full-auto.

Those TP-9 pistols look like pistols to me. They might not be legal to sell in all states, but why would one have to be registered as a short barrel rifle?

They are pistols. But he wants something like a MP-9 subgun, so therefore I suggested that he buy one and register it as an SBR, so he can put a stock on it. If you look closely at the pictures on DSA's website you can even see they left the mounting point for the stock hinge on the pistol's receiver, so it shouldn't be that hard to install the stock.

Better yet - get a SWD M11 in 9mm.

Then get a Lage upper and stock...

Its not a TP9, but it is full-auto, transferable, and reasonably priced (compared to many other transfereble SMGs).

Yeah, I've known about the Lage for awhile; it's very cool!

Compared to the MP9, it's a bulky monster, but I guess that's a positive thing if you need to win a subgun match with slow ROF.

Pretty spendy stuff though; figure $3000+ for an M11/9 plus $1000+ for the lage kit. That's NFA, inflated all the way!
