If I may please ask, who wears a Tuckable

holster (also brand if you care to say), and what weapon with it.

It would appear that, with my new job, this will be the solution for me to carry at work. All legally confirmed.

I am thinking of an airweight J frame perhaps?

And as luck, and pushing away from the table, would have it I have lost 7 inches off the waist this summer. So I am thinking I can really wear this type holster with some comfort.

Many thanks for input.

My tuckable vote goes to Comp-Tac MTAC/CTAC with a Belt Man belt with velcro on the underside of it. No clips, no worries.

The MTAC is probably the most popular of the tuckable variety, and the Belt Man is just a staple of everything gun belts.

I've owned a few tuckables. I love the concept, execution depends on how concealed you think it will be.
Below are the High Noon Alter Ego (my favorite), Galco USA, and Galco UDC.

The High Noon is available in several configurations, and is a top flight holster, with the high slide protector, top notch construction, and excellent tuckability, with bottom attachment. The one negative (and positive) is the huge ass belt loop clip. Yes it locks in place, perfectly, but it screams CONCEALED! Still a great holster.

Next the Galco USA. No reinforced opening (slimmer but harder to reholster),with "new generation" J-hook, slim and hard to see, but marginally tuckable with middle of body attachment, and really unstable, no lateral stability at all.

Next, the original "Deep Cover" Galco. The new "Ultimate Deep Cover" has the horrible USA J-hook, the original has a bottom of holster (like High Noon) attached, wide J-hook. My favorite of all, but designed for a 1.5" belt, and I wear 1.75" gun belts. No longer made anyway, but occasionally available on eBay.

By the way...the High Noon and the UDC pictured are both for the Kahr PM9.
The USA in the middle is for a J-frame.

The Comp-Tac MTAC (Minotaur):

I've tried HARD!! I've owned three. Kept trying again. I've owned every clip combination and "reshaped" all of them, trying to find a workable fit. It's just too much crap stuck down in my pants. And anyone who has a clue has to be able to see all that stuff.

The best holster of these is far and away the High Noon. But that big belt clip is so obvious. So now I pocket carry. Always.

BUT! I have a couple of .45 "compacts" I'd like to carry. I'm thinking High Noon, with cell phone camouflage. They really are top grade holsters.

I have one tuckable holster, a relatively inexpensive "Tuck This" from DeSantis. The photo below is from the backside of my Bersa Thunder with extra mag. The holster has a J-hook similar to the Galco in 2cooltoolz's post except that it is designed to pivot. This makes it more comfortable in a variety of positions but it tends to rotate downward, especially with the extra mag. It does conceal well. I use it with the Bersa and with a SW 3913, both alloy pistols. It would not work well with a steel pistol, IMHO.

I'm a fan of the Crossbreed Supertuck holster line. I find them to be quite comfortable once they break in. The allow your shirt to tuck in nicely over the firearm and with minimal printing. They have worked great for my brother and I. That's my recommendation, but there are many other options available, and no single holster will fill Every need of Every person.

Side note; one of my favorite things about Crossbreed is that they have 100% satisfaction guarentee. You can keep it for a few weeks and return with no questions asked and 100% refund. Their customer service seems to be among the highest I have experienced with a holster manufacturer.

Cheers and best of luck in your holster search!

+2 on the Tucker/garret silent thunder . I love them here in the hot swamp.
I also have a MTAC , and a couple Tucker tuckables, but the Kydex/leather is all win to me.

I have the Galco USA for my Taurus Model 85 (same size as your j-frame), and concur with 2cooltoolz's review. It adds very little to the width of the gun as leather goes, but it is still a bit too wide for discreet carry tucked in, at least on my mid-sized frame. It looks like I'm smuggling a grapefruit. I still use it, but not tucked. Also, I find it works best in the appendix location.

I use a Crossbreed Quicktuck with a full size XD 45. Needless to say, a gun that size doesn't conceal very well under any circumstances, but I do like the holster. It's simple and well made, does it's job well.

I have a Blackhawk CQC IWB leather tuckable holster, and really like how deep it conceals and how it carries as well. I hardly notice the Airweight J frame on my side!;)

I own & use several.

My primary holster is a Supertuck Deluxe. But, I have an inexpensive nylon holster called a Maverick "Tuckaway" that I really like.

My least favorite tuckable is a "WildBills". It was very comfortable at the gun show; but after wearing a day or two I decided I didn't like it.

My High Noon holster for my full size 1911 is tuckable. Been a while since I have actually tucked it though. I just don't like wearing shirts tucked in. But the High Noon holster is perfect for it. The gun rides low and is doesn't print at all.

I carry my Glock 36 in a K&D Dakota Defender tuckable. Very comfortable and I highly recomend it.

I carry my Ruger Sp101 3" in a High-Noon Hidden Ally. Gets the job done, but I've been meaning to replace it.

I used to carry IWB (usually tucked) pretty much exclusively. Nowadays, I tend to use OWB when I can. Most often, though, I suppose I IWB-carry, untucked with a cover garment. Fortunately, my IWB-T holsters work just fine for this.

I carry an STI Shadow in either a Tucker Gunleather IWB model or in a Crossbreed Supertuck.
Shanzik --

Do you carry the 9mm or the .45? Reliable, I assume or you wouldn't carry it. Tell me how you like it. I can maybe see one of these in my future.

I have a couple but to be honest don't really wear them much. I have gotten quite accustomed to an untucked shirt. Never thought I would, thus the tuckable.

I carry the .45 Shadow. It was the first STI I bought, though not my first 1911, and it has become by far my favorite gun. Something about it and me just connect.

The Heine straight 8 night sights are fantastic for quick target acquisition, and having them recessed into a trench makes them very unlikely to snag.

It is very accurate, has a little less felt recoil than my Colt Defender (maybe due to their Recoil Master guide rod?), has never had a malfunction in over 1,000 rounds, and carries wonderfully.

The standard G10 grips are nicely textured and combined with the stippling on the front strap and the checkered MSH, it's easy to get a rock solid grip on it.

My only complaint is that the finish has shown holster/usage wear faster than I expected, but so far it has just added some nice character to it. Most of it is on the frame rather than the slide.

I liked it so much I bought two more STIs... a pair of Ranger IIs with one in 9mm for cheaper practice and the other in .45ACP, and I'm waiting on funds to buy either a double-stack or government model.

If you have any more questions I'd be happy to answer them.

Nice leatherwork, adjustable height and angle, variety of belt clip choices. I use the Slimline clip which is barely noticeable.

Of course not as concealable as the J-frame. However, I was surprised that this concealed as well as it does. Does a good job of holding the grip close to your body. Dropped my plan to get a M&P9c. This is my high capacity or might get wet option.

Both highly recommended.
