If I had just one more to buy...

Well I have seen pictures of it twice. Once in Guns of the Old West and this month in The American Rifleman!
Yes it's the little Ruger Bearcat Storekeeper!
A sweet but pricey little revolver.
The little Bearcats are on the small side, small all over including the trigger guard (my only complaint) but they wouldn't look right if it was bigger.
Size=wise it's the perfect take-along gun, small enough for a pocket while hiking, even better in a nice cross draw holster! Out of the way while fishing, yet handy fir vermin.
As a plinker it'll shoot a little wider over distance due to the short bbl, but it's not a hunting gun or long range blaster. The little Lipskys Special is best suited to plinking at reasonable ranges at reasonable sized targets. As a personal defense revolver, six LR would tend to chanhe any bad guys thunkung and it could dispatch a good sized feral animal in a pinch.
I already have plenty enough rifles and Pisrols but if I wanted to buy just ONE MORE just for ME, this little one would be it!
Strange,I used to think of the 22LR as an almost free cartrige to shoot but today, at sometimes 10cents a shot, you need to ask yourself do I really want a .22? Well with this one the answer is , Yes!

I have read a couple articles on that revolver and I must admit that even though I am a S&W and Ruger fan, I found the small frame Uberti chambered in .38 Special to be a gun of intrest to me!
I think that the .38 Special would make this a fine Self Sefense revolver! Yes it would be slower than most semi-autos and reloads are slow gut the brand has proven reliable and you can't fault the .38 Special for anti personell work! The diminutive size would also make this one a canidate for several types of holster carriws.
Very intresting!

Bob, how does that little Uberti shoot? I don't think I have ever read a test of a Bearcat that reported what I think is really good accuracy. I think the Storekeeper is tested in the Dope Bag of the latest Amer Rifleman, and the accuracy was not good.

The Uberti has great looks and if it shoots well would be a fine choice. I have a Model P Jr. in .32 H&R Mag and it does pretty well.

It shoots about like this:

Probably better if I shot it from a rest.

MY STOREKEEPER SHOOTS like a champ. The day I got it in Sept the closest targets were lilly pads in the pond at 50 yards. We shot the crap out of 'em!!!
The next targets were steel at 90, 100, 110, and 120 yards. We had NO problem dinging 'em until we got tired of it and switched over to Al's new K22 and BRowning 1911 22, both of which also shot like champs using the same 22LR ammunition.
