IDPA - S&W match in Mass.

Last night on the Outdoor Channel they showed the IDPA nationals at Smith and Wessons's indoor range in Springfield, MA. I began thinking about the stickt laws in MA and it got me wondering.

How do the competitors legaly get their firearms to the location of the match? The majority of them don't live in MA, so they are not licensed in the state.

A while back, there was a TFL thread about the arcane gun laws in MA and the jist was on the discussion was "Don't go to MA with a gun!" http://thefiringline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=471399&highlight=ma

Anyone attend the match? It looks like real good fun, but I wonder still?

Holy Cow!

I just read the site, and it answered a few questions, but created a few more.

The competitors are O.K. to transport their guns to the match (no place else) if they either have a Permit for Carry issued by their State or a letter from their home Cheif Law Enforcement Officer. All guns must be unloaded and locked in a case seperate from the ammunition? So once a competitor reached the S&W range, they can then legaly uncase and load?

New question: According to the site, they must also bring their own ammo? Under the NOT PERMITTED section it states
•Purchase of ammunition even with a MA Non-Resident LTC this is not allowed

Is this correct?
