Idpa equipment question

I've never been to a idpa match so I was wondering is it legal with idpa rules to use 10 round mags in a 1911 Even though the mag is sticking out the bottom or dose the pistol have to appear completely stock. they are chip Mccormick mags if that helps

Ok thanks what about the 8 round chip Mccormick mags they also stick out? But are obviously shorter

McCormick 8 round mags shouldn't be any problem.
If there's any difference between them and standard 7 rounders, it's too small to matter.

They are good, I have a couple myself, also Wilson and Metalform. Tripps are good, too.

If you intend to shoot IDPA with a .45 in the Custom Defensive Pistol (CDP) Division, 8+1 is all you get anyhow.

I shoot light loaded .45s alongside the 9mms and .38s in Enhanced Service Pistol (ESP) and have a set of custom made 9 round magazines which is all that will fit The Box. But that is getting kind of far out and I do not recommend it for a Novice.
