Identifying Small and Large Ring M-98s??

Can anyone describe to me the best way to visually identify the difference been a small and large ring Mauser 98?? I've got a couple of mauser actions laying around that i'm looking at having built.. One is an FN M98 sporter action, the other is a K98K action (I only have an action, bolt, and barrel, I did not butcher a correct K98K rifle), that I'm looking to have turned into custom rifles.. I know the German K98K action is a large ring, its the FN i'm curious about... Thanks

Your FN Mauser action will be a large ring action.
Small Ring Mausers have a action of approx 1.300"
Large Ring Mausers have a action of approx 1.410"

On the Small Ring Mauser the left side of the receiver is straight where it meets the ring.
On the Large Ring Mauser it will be raised where the receiver meets the ring

This is a large ring '98 , a 1929 Persian Mauser made by CZ. You can see the step described. A small ring will not have this step.

The biggest exception to this rule are Turk K.Kale mausers, they are Large ring dimension, but take a small ring barrel. Some call them "Large Ring, Small Shank" recievers.
