I'm new to the forum and need help identifying an older 16 guage side by side.
At least 50 years old, two triggers, internal hammers. Only markings other than proof marks is the phrase "The Sportsman's" with the word "Cleveland" underneath. The phrases are on the side of the receiver. Is not damascus steel. Stock, which looks to be walnut, is starting to split and I want to research before I decide what my repair options will be. Belonged an uncle who I know owned it around time of WWII.

dentefying and old side by side 16 ga.

The Sportsman : Trade name used by the H. D. Folsom Arms Company on firearms made for the W. Bingham Compay of Cleveland Ohio. I am not sure of the date.
