Identifying an old Browning

 I have an old browning 16 ga. semi that was made somewhere in the 20s-40s. It does NOT have a gold trigger. Left side of barrel markings are "Browning Arms Company St Louis MO" and "special steel-16 gauge-shells 2 3/4" " The serial number on the receiver is A6831. Any help on it's model and history would be greatly appreciated. :)

it does

It is exactly the same except it doesn't have the elevated ridge sight on the top of the barrel. It is just a round barrell with a bead sight on the end. The picture is amazing though. Did they make this model without the ridge? thanks so much for the response. Greetings from Austin, TX the future College champs of 2005-2006. :)

The Browning Auto-5 (a.k.a, Humpback) was made in many different configurations, styles and grades. Yours is probably one of the less expensive grades.
