Freinds of mine came over to show me his .44 snubbie. He had some shells for it...I want some for my .357

Hollowpoints with aluminum caseings. Winchesters. copper jacket but the hole in these bullets looked like someone shoved the cal of a ballpoint prn into the molds as the lead was cooling off....I mean these were HUGE. Had a little spot of copper wayyyyy down in the center of the hole-almost looked like Hydra-shoks but there was no 'point' sticking up.

He didn't know whay Winchester bullets they were...so I'm hoping with my sorry descrition one of you will. :)

The bullets sound like Speer Gold Dots if there is a very deep hollow point going to the jacket. If they were loaded in aluminum cases, it had to be a Speer loading. Winchester uses copper cases, some may be nickle plated but they don't use aluminum cases ASFAIK. The Speer Blazer ammo is not reloadeable, odd sized Berdan primers.

I've used the Blazers in my 44 too. They look just as you described. When they expand you can still see the copper inside, hence the name, gold dot.
