When I picked up my new M1A from the shop, the guys there told me to pick up some of this surplus IMI ammo. I wanted to see if you guys could help me identify it as truly IMI. I'm just worried that it isn't and that it might be corrosive.
The ammo came in an Olive colored steel ammo case with this printed in white letters:
500 CARTRIDGES CAL 7.62MM
BALL
LOT: 13-80
Inside the ammo case is a styrofoam sheet. Under that are 25 small paper boxes with 20 rounds each. Each paper box is label the same as the ammo box.
The ammunition doesn't really have any markings that stand out. It's a typical copper jacketed brass round. The base has "80", "T", and "Z" stamped into them.
Any info would be appreciated. I would take some pictures but my digital camera's LithIon battery died (!).
