Identify revolver grips

Today I found a set of beautiful finger groove grips for a J frame revolver. They are not boot grips, and have grooves for all fingers, and cover the backstrap. They are curved on the back and look similiar to Smith factory finger grooves, I think. I think they are cocobolo or a orangeish brown wood with dark streaks. Inside they are marked "CCS Cobra Handgun Grips" in black marker. I cannot find this maker referenced. ANyone?? (attached photo, Mod. 36-1)

They look identical to a set I got off e-bay about a month ago, they seem to be the same in every way in the way they fit my M36.They were made by the Mustang Grip Co that went out of business about ten years ago.:)

Perhaps?

Maybe? it says CCS on each grip inside. But the other one also says it is for the J frame in the same fine black marker. That might explain CCS "Colt" as you suggested. Why would they make grips for a Smith?? Maybe a one-off? I can't find a picture of aftermarket grips that exactly matches these, but they sure fit my hand nicely, even though they look oversized on the gun. Not really larger than the presentation Pachmayrs I had on it. And I had some Herrets on it that look nice but feel terrible. THese are the keepers! Thanks Russ, YOur note came in as I was typing this.

They look like Mustangs to me. Here's a photo of my 649 with Mustangs:

I modified them by cutting off the base of the grips to reduce length. The wood is Zebra wood. I stained them because I didn't like the color.

I have Mustangs on a Colt Magnum Carry, a Python, and the 649. They are excellent grips.
