Ideas on Disassembling S&W 41 Mags without base pin?

My original mag has a hole in the floorplate and is easy to take apart and clean.
The new mags have no hole.
When the follower is held to the bottom the pin is about 1/2 inch from the hole. That option doesn't look like thats going to work.

Do you know if these can be disassembled?

Thanks for your input.

Sir:
I'd get some "gun-scrubber" (although I personally hate it) and clean that out that way. If you have air pressure that should do it.

Pardon my ignorance, but I was not aware that S&W changed their magazine design, but if they have, I would call and ask them just how you clean the new ones.

(Of course, if the mags are after market, that won't work.)

I have one of the old and two of the new.

You're supposed to buy new ones now. You can't replace the spring or the follower (even if they would sell you one). Very wasteful and disappointing decision.

It's just more cost-cutting from S&W, maker of second-rate clones of the famous Smith & Wesson revolvers of days gone by.

maybe if they cut out so many models they could save money and if that magizine cost what it used to $50 I would get after market ones.:rolleyes::D
