Ideas for mounting pistol and mags in vehicle console?

I'm trying to figure a way to permanently mount a holster and magazine carrier inside the console of my F-150 so that it doesn't flop around in there perhaps doing cosmetic damage to it and so it can be retrieved quickly if needed. I've tried gluing a kydex holster with Locktite inside the console but that didn't work. The pistols in question are a Sigpro 2022 and a Kimber Pro Carry II. Anyone out there have a solution thats worked for them?

I've used a couple of soft nylon type belt/IWB holsters that have velcro on them for attaching their hardware to. I just used self stick velcro on the inside of the console and positioned the holster so the gun fit. Never had any troubles.

I've also used a cheap Fobus paddle holster screwed to the back of a door behind jackets, and under tables and work benches with good results. I'm sure something like that would work OK in the truck too.

I think they've got the right idea.

Honestly though, the NRA magnet looks very promising and I may just have to pick a few up for myself in addition to that door stop the NRA is selling.

Another way is to get some gun packing foam (the kind of foam glued to the inside of the box your gun original came in, put your gun on it, and cut out an outline of your gun. Then, measure the dimension of your glove box and then cut out a section of foam including the empty outline of your gun. Finally, just glue the foam outline into your glove box and then you can just put your gun into the cut outline.

Agree with the velcro idea. Maxpedition makes some good bags with velcro lined pockets. They have a small adjustable loop holster for them. They are decidedly low tech, but they work great. I have on in the console of my 4-Runner and it holds my XD, CZ, Kahr and 1911 just fine.

Great ideas guys! I'm definitely going to have to try the magnet. I've tried the velcro and it just wouldn't hold the Kimber with full magazine. I may try the bolt on holster as well if the magnet doesn't do it.

Ak103K, is that a Detonics Combat Master in your picture?

If you have railed guns and want to be real slick, you can salvage something like that dumb pistol bayonet they sell and make a mount that interfaces with with rail if you are handy with machine tools.

Been thinking of doing this myself with the ability to lock and remotely release the pistol, similar to a PD Cruiser shot gun lock... but enough work that I will likely never get to it.

If you have a center console that's big enough (maybe on a truck) I've seen thumbprint safes that fit nicely in them. Also good for storage if you're going somewhere you cant carry.

Maxpedition Velcro Holster and Gorilla Glue

Okay, I know this is a very old thread, but I was looking for a way to have access to a pistol from my truck console and found it. Using some ideas here and a little help from Gorilla glue, I ended up using a Maxpedition velcro hoster and some loop backing velcro in my console.

Initially, I just used the adhesive from the velcro backing, but due to the heat from a hot Texas summer, the dang thing peeled off. I liked having the holster as it was, so I ended up gorilla gluing the velcro loop field to the console. Awesome!

I like that I can switch vehicles and still have a holster in the console ready for my pistol.

I also loop fielded the whole console and I can put mags and flashlights in the maxpedition accessories hook and loop stuff.

Thanks for the initial idea!

not sure if you're handy or a DIY type, but I made this rig for my Chrysler.
Works great and perfect placement for reach and concealment. works with any holster with a metal belt clip (or leather loop with snaps)

It's a metal fab mount bolts to the seat frame looks like an upside down u

It holds my Taurus 24/7 and My Beretta PX4,
if I carry my Colt Lawman it's as simple as switching the holster.

simple design, easy cut, and some nuts n bolts... finished up
with a faux leather wrap to match the seats...

Not bad for a girl huh? LOL. betya you could make your own... :D

HERE is the answer I found a couple of years ago. Great product made here in the US by a young gun nut who made one for himself and since everyone he showed it to wanted one, he started a new company.

We've had ours for over two years and love it. You can check it out at this URL:

http://www.seatcarry.com/

Holds any gun at exact spot on the front of driver's seat base for quick and easy access.
Extra storage space behind the gun for mags or revolver quick-loaders.
Can be quickly switched to any other vehicle you might own.
Gun is conveniently held on the front of your driver-side seat base.
Gun is concealed from prying eyes, or open only when you're in the vehicle.
I keep a couple of desiccant packs in with gun to protect it from rust.
Can accomodate even a huge old Mauser broomhandle. LOTS of room!
