ID this antique pistol

This is almost certainly one of the vast number of early revolvers made in Belgium in the mid-1800's.

The design started out as a pin fire, then later were made as cartridge models.

I have seen pin fire models that were converted to cartridge firing models.

Huge numbers of these were made by many different Belgian manufacturers, most with no markings at all.

Since most were virtually identical copies of each other, the lack of markings, and the lack of records of any type, positive identification is nearly impossible.

Most French and Belgian revolver were better in fit and finish. That revolver is rough. I dare say that it is a Spanish handmade clone from Eibar. These pinfires were some of the first cartridge firearms available. Revolvers and shotguns were plentiful in the pinfire ignition system.
