I have a female friend who was a victim of ID theft. Seems her VISA debit card that links to her personal bank account was e-heisted. Her bank called her to ask her to take care of some bounced ISF checks/transactions before the Sheriff was notified. She had 0 idea what her bank was talking about. The e-bandits were in Sydney, AU. My friend explained that she was not in Sydney. The bank started security procedures to track the account. My friend has not reported the e-crime to the police. She believes the bank is taking care of her. I believe she needs to report the ID theft and e-crime for her own protection and to preserve her credit. What do you folks think?
