WW1 Revolver technology doesn't do it
The guys whom were shooting IPSC type shooting in the 70s re-rediscoved this. High round counts under the time clock equal ruff handling resulting in front & rear sights falling off, leaf type return springs breaking, cylinder and stock screws getting lost in the grass, and what doesn't disappear ends up cracking.
Some 30 years ago Police Pistol Combat, PPC, retired all kinds of WW1 double action revolvers.
