1953 K-22, 5 screw

All good now.

Gunsmith said it hadn't been shot enough to loosen up, so he tuned the action and reshaped the cylinder bolt which was dragging.

A little touch of Van's cold blue, and we're headed to the range tomorrow to see how it shoots!

Thanks

just a touch on the cylinder

bolt wasn't machined or fitted properly and was digging in a little

Van's is great for little touchup jobs like that.

Gorgeous K-22!! Nice touch up job...the 10 looks sweet too. Are those grips on the K-22 numbered to the gun?? If not, and you would like to part with them, i will glady buy them from you.
I have a pair of '53 vintage K-22s...a Masterpiece (6"), and a Combat Masterpiece (4"). The 6" is wearing some diamond Magnas that don't match each other, let alone the gun.

Thanks!

Nice Smiths, gentlemen

540, yes, they are numbered to the gun, and I'm going to be storing them for a set of aftermarket grips.

It's as accurate as the Model 41.
I'm sure it's a great shooter and I love my K-22's dearly but let's be realistic. It would have to be one more hell of an exceptional revolver to be as accurate as even a mediocre 41. It takes a high dollar line-bored revolver like those from Freedom Arms to shoot as well as a $300 fixed barrel auto.

Yes, let's be realistic.

Within my limited capacity to shoot accurately, the K-22 shoots as well as my M41. :o

And with proper labeling.

Don't ask me how I know this is important.:o

My brother has a K-22 that he let me keep for him until he retired from the service (couldn't keep it while going overseas etc). Anyway, he finally retired and got situated "back home". I was hoping he had forgotten about the K-22 after 10-15 years but, unfortunately, he hadn't, so I had to give it back. :( He still has it, but isn't interested in selling it. Anyway, it was a great shooting little gun while it lasted.
