First off does any one else have one out there too? I know that they just recently came on the market. Here is a tale I ordered one from my local dealer. Two actually one for me and one for a guy I work with. Went to THE SHOP as I call it to pick them up. When I opened the box to check it out I see this stubby little 10rd magazine sticking out of the mag well. She told me when I ordered it that it came with a 15rd GI surplus mag. Most of their ads also state this too! I was at a gun show and saw the same gun there but with a wood handgard (mine is metal) same company with the 15rd magazine in place. Well about a day later I e-mailed the service section and inquired about this. It has been a week and they have not replied. I bought 15 and 30 rd mags for it at the show but want a 15 round one in the mag well. It just looks right. Gonna order more mags from CDNN investments tomorrow. Am I right to be miffed? Would you all consider this faulty advertising? I told them that I posted to this board frequently. This is Not vengence or anything. Just want to warn you all about this. Anybody else have a similar situation happen to them. Thanks for listening. opinions welcomed-----Darogue1

I have two of the IAI carbines. The first one, a walnut stock, I ordered last august. It came with a new 15 rd. GI mag. My second one I ordered two weeks ago, a birch stock (very nicely tiger striped!) came with a 10 rnder. I have never had to use IAI customer service, so I couldn't rate them. I would call them and see what they can do. The 10 does look a little funny, but I use it at the range and it works good. I bought 10 GI 15 rnders. at a gun show new in the wrap for $10 apiece, so the one 10 doesn't bother me.

well i was at my local GUNSHOP about 4-days back, looking in to giting a I.A.I. M1-Carbine, and the guy there said that i have to say what stock i'd like on the Rifle, and if i don't he would ordered the frist one in the book, and it had a birch stock with a metal handgard, and he said that all the new I.A.I. Carbines have the 10round Mag, at the time i did not have the $$ to ordered it, but when i do i will tell him to ordered the one with the walnut scotk and handgard.

I don't have one, but I was aware that there were different stock configurations. I think the metal handguard is the least expensive version. Aim Surplus (www.aimsurplus.com) has had them for about $380 (dealer cost). I wouldn't worry much about the 10-round magazine. I bought a bunch of GI 15-rounders, still in wax paper wrap, for only a few dollars each. That was over a year ago, but I suspect you can still find them cheap. I've read several very favorable reviews in different magazines of these IAI rifles. I'll probably get one one of these days.

Good piece. I have a target a home, showing a hole 1/4" from the top of the smiley face man's nose (point of aim, 15 yards, offhand). I figure that's just fine.

I had a problem with light strikes, the 2nd or 3rd time I took her out. Sent it to the factory. It was back in less than two weeks from shipping date- great response.
