Anyone have one of these? Considering getting one for nostalgia's sake. I already own a Mossberg 500 but always thought the WW1 trench-sweeper was cool. Don't know much about IAC.

I always wondered about the build quality on these as well. But one thing I can warn you about on the basic M97 design....that hammer can pinch the
holy stuffins out of your firing hand, if your hand gets anywhere close to it.
The lack of disconnector can cause accidental discharges with some folks not used to the feature. Its not as user friendly as your (and mine) M500,
nor forgiving.
You can find them on gunbroker.

fyi, they were used in both episodes of the war.
they are chinese guns if you did'nt know.
i have the riot version, same gun just without the heat shield, bayo lugs or sling swivels.
have it about 8 or 9 years now....never an issue, other than the rough action that smoothed out after a few hundred rounds. slam fired more than a few shells through it already.
never heard of the hammer bite issue, though i guess it is possible.
was trap shooting with it the other week.....that got the looks and me all of six birds.

I inherited a model 97 in 16ga full choke from my father. He got it in 1947 as collateral for a $20.00 loan that was not paid back. I use it when I'm feeling nostalgic. I have taken quail, ducks and geese with it...

97 trench gun

FWB: Ive got one and really like it. It is one of the best pattering shotgun Ive shot. Got a bayonet for it too. Looks awful bad with it on. I'd of cleared out of the trench with that pointed at me!!!

Get a new M1 carbine or rifle if you want something nostalgic.

As the others all noted, these cheap copies are made in China.
