I wrecked my car

I don't know if anyone wants to read about this, but I'm pretty sure that I totalled my car in an accident last night.
I was picking up a drunken friend from a bar and on the way home I turned right and the car went straight. It was raining of course and the car slammed into and over a foot high curb and nearly into on coming traffic. My wonderful ABS brakes also failed completely.
Now I have a 1998 chevy cavalier with a bent frame and no transmission. Nice, eh?
I spent the night waiting for the wrecker to show up and was picking up wheel barings in the road. The next to the best part was that NO ONE stopped to help me out or to see if I was okay.
The best part was unloading the car off the wrecker. The driver asked me to get in the car and let the emergency break off. Well, we had forgotten that the brakes on the car no longer worked and with one foot in and one foot on the brake I let the emergency brake out and of course the call started rolling back very quickly.
I, of course, fell out of the car and had my left leg/foot run over by what was left of the left front wheel. Besides my swollen and purple left foot, I hobbled away without any real injuries.
Thank god for auto insurance.

Damn tackdriver
If it wasnt for bad luck you wouldnt have any luck at all.
Glad to hear there was no serious injuries.
Take care my friend.

I wrecked a 97' BMW 325 not too long ago. The airbag did not open up and I ended up with a giant bruise on my head. I was fortunate that the bruise was the extent of my injuries.

Last summer, I wiped out on my CRB in a local mall parking lot. The driver failed to look at his rear view mirror while backing up. I slammed right into his rear end and totaled my bike.

Last week, I was talking to my girlfriend while backing up and hit a pole. Now I have 618 dollars worth of body work damage on my Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Morale of this story, watch out if you see me driving down the road.

First off, I'm NEVER riding with any of you guys! Especially you ST! ;)

Well, except for your foot, I'm glad your not hurt, tackdriver. That could have gotten real serious, a couple of times.

Believe it or not, one day, farrrrrrrr down the line, you will tell this story and laugh your butt off. I've had times like that, when disaster follows disaster, and one day it will strike you as funny ... or maybe that's just my warped sense of humor. :p

Glad you're OK. Think twice before you listen to another tow truck driver.

Like Blueyedog says, bad luck comes and goes. Here's wishing you have some good luck soon.

Yes Thank God for Auto Insurance. I crashed my T-bird about a month ago. The insurance people were slow and I didn't really push them. I paid 6k for the ride 2 ½ years ago and totally abused the thing. They decided that the Bird was a total Loss now they are gonna give me almost 5700 for a another car. I wouldn't have been able to sell the T-bird for more than 3k and now I'm getting close to 5700 I'm happy

I'm sorry to hear that tackdriver :( Hope your ok.

ST......Ditto on what Blue said :D

Luckily I only smashed my car once knocks on wood.....OMG where is wood? and well uhhh I was backing out of a parking spot, my car was next to a huge lamp post , well instead of backing out straight and then turning, I uh [insert blush here] didn't go straight I turned and wondered why my car wasnt moving along :D Until I got out and saw that the entire left side was smashed in. LOL AND PLEASE do not say WOMEN drivers! :p We all make mistakes and we all have accidents and we all learn by them. Just be glad everyone is ok.

Hey guys there is a Demolition derby in this neck of the woods that may be looking for a few good drivers ;) Glad to hear though that no one was hurt in any of their mishaps :)

I've only wrecked one car, a full size Chevy Van to be precise. I had decided to turn left in front of a speedy Volkswagen Corrado. The impact spun the van around and twisted the frame. The only door that worked was the rear sliding door.

I've also done something similar to Sandy's story. I was backing up a Suburban (the van's replacement) to our pop-up camper and I had the panel doors open to get a better view of the trailer. Unfortunately, one of the doors started pushing against a telephone pole. It took me quite a while to realize why the durned truck wouldn't back up anymore. That panel door was almost folded completely across the side of the Sub'. It never did close quite right since then....

Crapola! Bummer! No Way!
Hope all will be ok!

And if you hear from my Louise, won't you tell her I love her so?

I will finally be getting my truck back after nearly a month without it. The trash truck that ran over the back of it did $5483.30 in damage. I personally couldn't believe they fixed it. As long as the car did its job and protected you, that is all you can ask for. Consider when you get a replacement though, going with a different model. 1997 to current, the Chevy Cavalier has done the worst of any American car on the road in crash tests.

I thought I'd seen it all, until a 22WMR spun a bunny 2 1/4 times in the air!

Sorry to hear about your wreck but I'm glad your alright.
Son, didn't your mother ever tell you that girls will get you into trouble, but I don't think she meant that it would cause you to back into poles. LOL
