Yup, I won a new rifle with a scope, on a $40 raffle ticket. A stainless synthetic Tikka in 7mm RemMag, with a 3.5-10 Bushnell. SWEET! They are supposed to be real good shooters right out of the box, except..............I already have a 300 WinMag that shoots like a dream, and the difference between a 7mm and a 300 are so little that I want to rebuild the Tikka into something else (we can never be satisfied, can we?)
Anyways, here's my thoughts.....Is there a wildcat that is basically a 7mm RemMag necked up to 358 or 375? I know of a 358 Norma and a 375 Taylor, being a 338 necked up to either calibre, but the 338 case is shorter than a 7mm. I want more BOOM. I've thought of a 358 STA or a 375 H&H Improved, but I'm not sure that these would fit in the clip......thus the length issue of the parent case. Suggestions anyone?
