...Browning would make a 10mm version of the Hi-Power. I mean, they make it in .40 Cal, so a 10mm version wouldn't be too difficult to engineer. *sigh*
Actually I think it would be quite an engineering problem.
1. The mag well is not long enough to accept magazines capable of holding the 10mm round. The way the BHP "around-the-corner-and-down-the-hill" trigger system is set up you'd have to completely redo the slide as well as the frame as well as the internals for both.
2. The ejection port would not be big enough.
3. There are some who question how well the .40 BHPs are holding up so a 10mm version would have to be bulked up even more than the .40 was from the 9.
I love the 10mm and I love the BHP 9mm but I doubt ever the two shall meet.
What have you heard about the BHP not holding up well in .40? Where could I get more info on that? I really love my 9mm BHP and as a result have been considering a .40.
Why would you want one? 10mm's aren't selling well in the first place. So it is doubful if your wish will ever be realized. the 10mm is pretty much a caliber in decline, much the same as the 41 Remington magnum went through. Sure you can pick up 41 mag ammo at a well stocked gun shop, but new guns for it are pretty darned scarce and 10mm is in the same leaky boat...7th
