I Was Really Surpised ...

I was thinking about buying a black powder revolver because I was under the impression that it would be cheaper than modern handguns. I was surprised to find out that it actually costs more than 9mm to shoot. After doing the math it looks like it costs between 28-38 cents per shot; 10 cents per ball, 10 cents per powder charge, 8 cents per cap, and 10 cents for a greased wad. I've heard you can use crisco but everyone said it's really messy and I would like to avoid that if I can.

Am I missing something? Why is it so expensive? Any help would really be appreciated!
