Arsenal refinished 1927 Colt Sistema .45acp from CDNN! Now all you Hi-Point haters can't pick on me anymore!:) I hope i made a wise decision as giving up the Hi-Point meant giving up a lifetime warranty for complete uncertainty! This is my first .45 so i hope its a good one.

Good luck on your purchase! I looked at the Sistema when I got my CDNN catalog last week.

It was a good move not buying a Hi-Point. I would relate their lifetime warranty to that of the USA magazines... they're guaranteed to function or you can send 'em back, and they'll send you another one that $uck$ just as bad :)

I'm curious though... for the money you were gonna spend, why you weren't looking at the Ruger .45 or the CZ .45? Both of those brands have "I'll KICK ya if you insult my...." followers here on TFL... Can't go wrong with that ! ;)

The Systemas are high quality guns built under license to Colt, on Colt equipment in Argentina. They were made of high quality steel to the then high Colt Standards of the 1930s. You'll be hard pressed to find a better gun for the money.

An awful lot of Systemas have ended up as the base gun for a custom 1911. Bill Wilson and others have fixed up a bunch of them over the years.

I know that these Sistemas get a good rating overall, but if anyone reading this thread has one as well as other 1911's,please give your opinion of how good they are. Also aren't these one of the 1911's that don't like hollowpoints but perform very well with 230 FMJ's? And hi Onslaught! The main reason i got the Sistema was that i decided i wanted the 1911 design. If i like shooting it, i may pick up a CZ or Ruger, although the Rugers are a bit chunky for my taste, and i have no idea how much the CZ goes for but i suspect its a lot!;)

Whew! I tought you were gonna say "Jennings"!

I think the gun could be throughted for hollow points. Good chioce! Even if all you shoot is ball ammo.

I'd say you made the right choice. If you have trouble with hollowpoints, don't worry. When I got my 45ACP, I bought some hollowpoints and found that only my factory mag would feed them, but npot the cheaper aftermarket ones I bought. They all fed ball ammo fine. I was disappointed at first until I realised that I just wanna shoot ball ammo anyway. :)

why are people so impressed with a liftime warrenty.like the above post said.they will just send you another POS.ID RATHER BUY SOMETHING THAT DOSENT REQUIRE A WARRENTY.BTW ANY RUGER OR COLT OR EVEN SMITH N WESSON ,AND OF couse glock will fix your gun free ,just send it to them.
