I Want a Maxpedition Versipack

Specifically, I'm thinking a Jumbo in tan with the holster and mag holders. Remember, in Illinois, I can have a pistol in there, but it has to be unloaded.

I hate my fanny pack and I'm not legally allowed to carry in a holster.

Convince me not to buy the Versipack Jumbo, or forever hold your peace.

And no purse cracks unless you can come up with one I haven't heard!

Well, the first thing that comes to mind is "why buy something which inspires so many purse cracks" to begin with?

Technically, that's not making a purse crack, you know.

:D

I will be of no help... I want one too. Not so much for carry, but for a keep in the vehicle mini bug out bag type setup. (spare mags, bottle of water, spare cuffs, etc.)

I have owned and used a Jumbo for somewhat more than a year now (tan) and have found it to be an unusually versatile piece of equipment. I got it originally because I had my right hip replaced and could not carry a gun on that hip and the Jumbo seemed like a good way to go. Because I needed a bunch of medical "stuff" the pack was also quite helpful. I have just reached the first anniversary of the replacement surgery and can carry anything I want on that hip. Having said that, I still carry the Jumbo daily and it will remain my primary method of concealed carry for the forseeable future.

A bit of advice though. If you don't use some good judgement you can tend to fill up the bag with the gun and extra ammo along with a bunch of extra "junk" that you don't really need but which the Jumbo will easily accomodate. Advice? Experiment some but use some judgement in that which you opt to carry on a regular basis.

The Jumbo is an outstanding piece of quality equipment and I recommend it without reservation.

You people are no help at all.

From this point on, purse jokes will be accepted.

Honestly, I think I'll carry a wallet, keys, light and phone in there, too. I know that basically makes it a purse . . . . but I don't care. I've lost my wallet twice in the last week, and I lose my keys almost daily. Somewhere in all the changing to go to work, work out, etc. it just disappears. I've noticed my wife always knows where her daily stuff is . . . it's in her purse.

And again, I hate the fanny pack, so if I want to carry a gun in Illinois, my options are narrowing.

Okay, well not a joke per se, but my wife carries her Wilson CQB Compact Stainless in hers...which she uses as a purse. She says it is the best purse she has ever had. Hers is black, however.

I thought long and hard about a man-purse (specifically the maxpedition) before deciding a vest was a better option. It has enough pockets for everything and it does a great job of concealing a gun on your waist for fast access. I'll bet you can draw your gun a lot faster from a holster than from a zipped up shoulder bag.

Some will say a vest guarantees everyone knows you are carrying but these people are in the "gun world" so they expect it. In my travels, I've been accused of being a photographer, a fisherman, and a walmart employee, but never a gun-carrier. I wear a Sig-tac vest.

oops... didn't notice you cant carry in a holster - i'll leave the post for future reference.
