Went to an auction hopeing to get an S&W M 17 .22. When that went way over budget I thought I'd try my luck on a Winchester 94, kind of as a replacement for my first deer rifle and the same thing happened.
Then for the heck of it I bid on this 1972 Marlin 336 and the bidding stopped well below what I thought it was going to be. Maybe the other gun bidders had blow their wads on the earlier guns.
Had a bit of a glitch because our bidder number was in my wife's name and the FFL wouldn't let me pick the gun up. But the auction company printed a new receipt in my name and every thing went fine after that.
Got some ammo too.
