I thinking about a K 98

After looking through all the great posts in the thread I posted "We had the Garand, what did the Germans have" I've done some cursory research on FG42, G43 and K98. The K98 interests me the most for some reason: probably because it appears to be pretty much available. I even found one on www.samcoglobal.com for under $200 in "special select" condition. Before I plan the purchase, however, I'd like a couple of inputs from you, the cognoscii.(those in the know)

I like the 8mm availability and the condition of the weapon. I really like "historical" rifles as opposed to modern ones (unlike my pistols which I like pretty much up to date). My brother has an AK and a AR15 which are just fine but not for me. ( I own an SKS in very nice shape) I very much like to older pieces. This mauser is interesting and supposedly a good shooter. Any suggestions other than this? I know it's not a semi-auto but I don't own a bolt action and this one seems to be one of the best.
