I think I need a "shot snake" or something similar...

I think I need a shot and or a powder snake for my percussion shotguns.

Is it easier to carry a shot snake for range use? I would like to try to shoot a round of trap with one of my percussion shotguns.

What has worked for any of y'all? There are many various ones to choose from, and some even reach toward the $300. mark- way more than what I want to pay...but $100 or so would not be out of the question.

The powder and shot snakes are handy for carry purposes. I have a set that is a bit larger than the 'snakes'. Handy but the shot pouch is heavy when full.
However, the shotgunners I see at ranges often leave both shot and powder back at the loading benches. Then they load there using the same dipper for both shot and powder. I see no advantage to using the snakes for that purpose.
For reenactment type shooting, trail walks, hunting and such, they are just fine. For the range, I see no advantage.
