I think I got a good deal

As many of you may know Im in the market for a new 22lr rifle. After reading all of your suggestions I decided to look into a 10/22. So my wife and I went into a local gun store today to see a 10/22. I really liked the 10/22, and while I was there I also looked at a slightly used Savage 64. The dealer offered to sell me the 10/22 for $150. I believe the dealer is giving me a fair deal. The dealer also said he'd throw in the Savage(for my wife) for an extra $75. Now I really like the 10/22, and I am going to get it...Im just clueless about the savage. Is this a good dependable rifle?

Agreed, $75.00 isn't all that bad a price. I just don't like the design of the magazine guide and lifter. If the feed lips get bent, might as well replace the whole assembly. Very prone to jamming. I tried to adjust one once. An exercise in futility.

I wouldn't reccomend it as a first 22 auto-loader. Besides, for about $100.00 a guy could buy a new Marlin Mod. 60. The extra $25.00 is worth it IMHO.

True, but for something to toss behind the seat of the truck...
