I was looking to purchase two Hk pistols, one 9mm and one .45acp. I ended up purchasing a VP9 and a 45C.

The VP9 was brand new. It came with two 15 round mags, box, and all accessories for $599. The 45C I purchased from a private seller that shot 100 rounds through it. It came with Trijicon night sights, four 8 round mags, two 10 round mags, box, all accessories, and a CompTac Minotaur IWB holster for $900.

I took them to the local range and shot 200 rounds through each of them. Both were 100% reliable shooting Federal 100 round packs, 115gr and 230 gr.

The VP9 was very impressive. I was on the fence between getting a VP9 or Walther PPQ. I chose the VP9 because of the excellent ergonomics and trigger. The VP9 has a great trigger, maybe the best I've encountered for a striker fired pistol. The ergos are excellent, as the VP9 frame is very similar to the P30. I would venture to say that you would be hard pressed to find a better 9mm pistol for $599.

The 45C was also excellent. The SA trigger is very good, and allowed easy follow up shots. The ergos are good on the 45C. It fit my hand very well.

Overall, I am very satisfied with my purchases. I highly recommend the VP9 to anybody on the market for a 9mm pistol in the $600 price range.

Very cool:cool:
The VP9 sounds interesting, I'd like to shoot one! I'd also like to shoot the 45C. I spent some time handling a 45C in a store and I really liked it! I loved the cocked and locked option along with the double action, I also felt like it had a pretty smooth and consistent double action along with a great feeling single action, the gun fit my hand very well too. I've heard that the 45C has some serious muzzle flip though, was that your experience as well?

I have to say, those are a couple nice pistols and it sounds like you got some pretty good deals.

They look great! Just curious, how does the 45c compare, size wise, to the P2000? It looks similar.

Basically identical

do sights that come with it glow in dark?

They are the glow in the dark type. Same as the P30 sights. They dont glow for very long though, night sights are still better.

Congrats on your new addiction. I have a VP9, P2000 and P30. HK's are the best production handgun in my opinion.

I had no idea the 45c was P2000-sized.

*sighs, writes another gun on the wish list, writes off 800 bucks*

Pretty much the same frame. The grip is a bit wider from frontstrap to backstrap, but it is narrower from side to side. I love the HK45c. My only negative is that for me in 45 ACP the grip was a bit slick. Some stippling fixed that right up for me. Grip tape or some Talon grips would likely accomplish the same thing.

I've heard that the 45C has some serious muzzle flip though, was that your experience as well?

I find the 45c to be one of the mildest shooting 45 ACPs I've owned. I prefer it compared to the P220s and 1911s I've owned. The accuracy is also one of the best of any pistols I've owned.

By the way, now is probably one of the best times to think about buying one with the promotion:

yeap hk is one of the best gun makers

yes hk is one of the best gun makers. i used to own a hk usp in 40 caliber. great gun. one of the best i've owned.

i don't know about a vp

i'm sure all of hk models are great. my top semi auto pistol brands are sig sauer, heckler and koch , springfeild and berreta

I briefly owned a Hk USP compact .45, and the 45C feels slimmer overall to me. Same manual of arms. The 45C is basically a union of the P2000 and the USP, with a few unique features of it's own. It is a sweet shooter.

It's been awhile since a firearm has truly impressed me, and the VP9 did just that. I think that Hk will sell quite a few of them. Even though I ultimately chose the VP9 over the Walther PPQ, I can't seem to shake the urge to purchase a PPQ. It might be my next purchase.

Excellent purchase! Congratulations!
May I just kindly suggest adding a representative of the USP series to the collection. This will be a proper way to enjoy the complete HK awesomeness!

HK

Owned a HK model p30s for a few months. Liked everything except the trigger. Sold it because of the trigger; bought a S&W Model 986. Totally different pistol, bought it because it was 9mm and has a sweet trigger.
