I have been thinking about a buying a model 66 for a while but kept putting it off, well I found one that really caught my eye and I just had to bring it home.

It’s a 3” Satin stainless 66-4 with factory mag-na-porting and wood grips

very nice gun. how does it shoot?
i like it.

might need to look at one of these if they still make them.

sorry to be nose. how much does a gun like that cost? did they discontinue it becasue i check s&w website and it is not there.

Coolride,
The M66-4 was made from 1994 to 1998. Most of the guns you see with special features like the porting will be limited production models and usually specially ordered by a distributor. They generally won't show up in a catalog or be on the website (if it's a new model).
You have to carefully watch the used market for one to turn up and be prepared to buy when you see it as a lot of them don't stay on the market very long.

Thanks

It was $525 and I ended up paying $450, like Majic stated, it was a limited run and I don’t think that S&W made very many so I lucked out being in the right place at the right time.

This one is listed on one of the auctions as a SW Carry Comp. It looks like the same as the 66-4, but it doesn't indicate that it is. It has a starting price of near $900.00. It's beautiful, but I didn't pay that for my Python... What's it worth??? :)
