I've found a set of S&W target grips that actually feel GOOD in my hands!
I recently got a Model 24 6.5". Great gun, LOUSY grips. I decided that I was going to try a project, taking a set of N-frame grips and cutting them down to my specs.
Well, I found an old set of wood grips, slapped them on and all of a sudden realzied that the gun felt a LOT different, and a lot better. So much better that I decided to shoot it before cutting on the grips.
I did some investigation, and it turns out that while these grips came off a 6" Model 27, they're smaller in a number of critical areas. They're still beefy, but they're not nearly as chunky as the grips that came on it.
The weight of the gun, especially with the long muzzle, helps pull the grip up into my hand, and makes for a very nice fit.
I never thought I'd find a set of S&W grips that I actually liked...
