I need your help with my strategy for this season!

I am hunting public land in central Florida.
I have scouted for weeks and have seen very little buck sign but I have seen a LOT of hunter signs. Everywhere I have scouted I have seen orange ribbons every hundred or so yards.
This has me trying think out of the box. My question is if I see a bunch of hunters going deep in the woods a few hundred yards or more off the road what if I set my tree stand on the outside of a field within sight of the road and let them push deer to me?

On public land that's just the way it is. I am hoping to have my back to a tree between me and where I expect other hunters to be. Maybe I'll wrap the tree with orange ribbon over head when i climb into my stand.:):):)

We used to lease a small piece of property surrounded by public land. A gas line ran though one side on the other was a narrow creek draw surrounded by planted pine. We would do exactly what you are describing. Most days we would not see deer until 10 am or in the afternoon we would see them between 2-3 pm. People would go to or leave their stands and push deer by us. After the lease fell through, we set up on public between it and the heavily pressured area in a big bottom the deer used as an escape route. It was more work to hunt because you needed to travel a good way to get to it. I dont know if your field would work or not. If you do a little scouting you should be able to find a bottleneck on the backside of a pressured area close to heavy cover. Set a few stands up here for various winds and you should be able to cut off a few nice deer.
