I need your critical reviews...

I have, as any creator has done, been fiddling with my flash film The Legacy of Gun Control.

So now I have a different version.

I'm asking you here on TFL to review it and tell me if you like it better than the first one.

I'm also requesting that you not pass it on to others outside this forum, just yet.

I'll be replacing the preloader later with something more docile and less alarming for the soccer moms, with the hope of drawing them in and then zinging them with the truth.

The original is still up at www.cphv.com.

Here is the link to the revised version.

Thanks!

I actually I think this one is better, it walks you through the all of the steps from conception, to implementation and on to the final effect nicely. It should lead them in a little better so as the arrival at the interview becomes more personal, rather then a "it can't happen here" thing which is their favorite statement. You may want to center it a little though, some of it's a little to the left.

There was a thread on another board about it ( the old one linked on your site ) the other day and everyone was pretty impressed. I think they just stumbled on to it, some of them intended to e-mail the link out. But at any rate they were all very positive reactions.

edit, - thought I'd seen the new one but hadn't.

John, I like this one. It is a bugger to load but I don't see any way around that.

Suggest that you lose the shading on the "NEXT" buttons. All I see is the EX and took a while to realize that it was something to click on.

Sam...I may be old but at least I'm slow.

I was going to use Kum-Ba-Yah as the music for the quotes scene, but my wife said that she would disown me if I did... I had to settle for "Are You Sleeping", but I think this is better anyway, as I hope to send this message to gunowners.

The gravestone is going to go, and be replaced by that type of plaque that people put on gravesites bordered by potted flowers.

Also, I chose to use roman numerals instead of the standard date format... see if you can figure out what years are listed. :)

C.R. Sam,

Instead of removing the gradient, I lightened up the two outside letters of "NEXT". The button is supposed to be prison bars, and I wanted to keep it dark inside of it.

Also, the load time is the same, I just start the film a little earlier. It reduces the wait and creates the illusion that the film is not as big as it is.

Does this help?

Scud, C.R. Sam,

Thanks for your input.

I know more of you have seen it, but for some reason chose not to comment. That's fine.

The new movie is up, and can be found off of the home page at www.cphv.com.

You may continue to post your reviews here, if you like. I'll take all suggestions into consideration.

Thanks.

John/AZ2:

I've just reviewed the new version... and while I like it, I do have a comment.

I'd like to suggest that a greater parallel be drawn between the gun banners, and the results. Taken as it is, one might well make the mistake of assuming that it supports gun control.

Perhaps adding a line or two before or after "It's for the children", to re-emphasize this?

I do appreciate your work on this. I've linked to it from my site. You can read the review in the News section, September news, in the Old News area.

Keep up the good work!

WorldNetDaily's own server records show 894,446 actual unique users for the month. [/quote]

Above from WND site. Congratulations John, looks like a lot of folks all over the world are going to get a chance see your film. There is no doubt that by far it is the best of it's type on the web to date. I'd check with your webhost to make sure the bandwidth doesn't get exceeded for the month and they shut you down, sometimes they work like that. If it runs up a tab let us know, I'm good for something and I imagine there are more of us that are too. Even if only 50% of the people look at it today it will still be 14,907.43 hits, a lot of bandwidth.
