I need some help with scoping my 30.06

Is it possible to get target turrets for scopes that don't come with them?

I have a few features in a scope for my 30.06 that I want and I can't seem to meet them all in my price range.

I know everyone recommends buying a $500 scope, but that means the difference between scoping my rifle and hunting this year, or having to wait until next year. I just don't have $500 to spend. i have more like $200 or so.

I want target turrets, 3-9x or 4-12x variable, I'd like an illuminated reticle, and I'd like Mil-dot.

It seems to me that the only feature I listed that is possible to be added later would be the turrets.

Or am I missing a model that covers all this? I've seen the BSAs, Barskas, NcStars and was fully prepared to get one of those and deal with "not as clear as they could be" optics. I'm still young and my eyes are fine. But I read a lot of reports on SNipersparadise that they break after a few shots. I can't deal with that.

So my questions are:
Can I add target turrets later?
Is there a scope that meets my requirements that I missed?

What type of hunting?

The question you really need to ask is what type of hunting am I doing and what scope fits my needs. I can't see the need for all your requirements on a hunting scope. A standard 4x nonvariable scope is perhaps the best choice for most hunting unless your hunting in the plains and are planning extrememly long range shots. You can get a great fixed power scope close to your price range and it will serve you a lifetime.

Your requirements and your wallet don't match.
No scope is made that has all of your requirements for $200.
And, I don't know of one made for $400.
Your wallet determines what you can buy, not the other way around.
You're either going to have to come up with a lot more money, or compromise your requirements. I don't know what had you come up with that list of requirements, but it's too far out for me.
I have fixed 4x and 6x scopes on all of my hunting rifles as I found that variables are always set at some intermediate power in the power range, and when a shot comes along, the power setting never gets changed, for big game hunting, like you do with a 30-06. Varmint rifles are a different story, I do have variables on them as there is time available to adjust power setting, for groundhog hunting. For coyotes, I have straight 4x scopes on those rifles.

Well then my research was correct.

I think i'll just get the Buckmaster, unless someone has something bad to say about them.

Check your local Walstore. Mine has a Bushnell Elite 3x9 3200 for $180. They don't sell guns any more so the poor thing looks awful forlorn just laying there. Perhaps yours has an orphan scope too. Good scope, good price.
