I Need Some Advice on M1a Rifle Scope Mounts

I have just about decided to put a scope sight on my M1A/ I would use a relatively low power scope, either a fixed power 4X or a variable 2X-7X.
I would appreciate some good advice on selecting a scope mount.

Get the Smith Enterprise from Dillon(they have it the cheapest I've found) or anywhere else that you can find them cheaper. They are a great mount and still alow you to use the iron sights. Some advice when you are looking for one. There are very cheap ones on the market but don't fall for it. They loosen up every other shot. Get the Smith. It runs about $149 and won't loosen up. It is also lower so you might not even need a cheek pad on the stock depending on your body build. The Smith is also much better than the Springfield Armory 3rd Generation. Good luck.

I would get the ARMS #18 or the GG&G equivelent. I guess the Smith mount is along the same lines. The SA 3rd Gen mount is a real piece of crap. It is only to 2 point mount and aluminum walks.

If you have the SA M1A, their screw on mount works great. I was getting awesome groups with mine. I just couldn't stand having a big ol scope on my military rifle. The mount is excellent, however. You can take it off and remount it and the rifle is still zeroed. Not many can say that! :D
