I need my 1911 Colt "refurbished".

Where in N. California can I take my Colt Series 80 to have it completely "gone through" and brought up to snuff? It has, sad to have to admit, suffered from a bit of neglect (SLAP!). I'd like to have a scratch removed, and some nite sights added also. I live in Modesto and would like to deliver it myself. Any suggestions?

I dont know of a place in N. Cali but I can highly recommend Kings Gun Works in So Cali,They have done alot of work for me on my 1911's and there work is superb.

If you want to stay with a local smith, I think I'd call around and talk to shops about who they like for refinish work. That is going to be the hardest procedure your gun needs if it used to work okay. Any smith of decent reputation is going to be able to clean, replace springs and op check the gun.

If you want to "upgrade" something or are having a malfunction, that is when it is best to engage a 1911 specialist. But I'd rather keep it local to engage the craftsman directly on what you want and avoid exorbinant shipping costs.
