I need a pad for my shotgun

I have recently acquired a Rossi coach gun. Short barrel 12ga with hammers.
It's a hoot to shoot but it kicks like mad with hot loads (OO Buck) - any suggestions as to what would be a good buttpad? I do hang on tight, I learned that years ago. My other shotgun is a 12ga William Powell and it has a pretty good rubber shock absorbing pad. Doesn't give me any grief. I can't tell what make it is - no signs of a makers name.

You might look at one of the PAST pads by Battenfield Technologies. They are recoil pads that you wear instead of the shotgun wearing them. That way you can shoot multiple firearms with one recoil pad. They are sold in many sporting goods stores and online.
Go to http://www.battenfeld-technologies.com/past.html for information and photos.

The easiest and cheapest way to reduce recoil is to tape a towel or rag to the butt. It sounds ghetto but a friend of mine had a single shot that kicked like hell, and he was too cheap to buy a recoil pad. Supposedly it really helped

I have one of those Limbsaver pads and I hardly notice the kick on a 20ga. It's made of some strange, grippy rubber material that really flexes like gel.

LimbSaver makes grind to fit and slip on pads. I have one on my Winchester Defender and it really cuts felt recoil on slugs and 00 Buck. GanderMountain,or order on line. Enjoy your new shotgun.

If you like leather and the bonus of protecting the entire end of the buttstock Cabelas sell the leather "Kick Killer" type lace on or velcro secured pads.
