Does anyone have a URL, or other source for the MOC's who voted for, and against the 1994 "Assault Weapon Control Act?"

I seem to recall that Algore cast the tie-breaking vote in the Senate, but I'd sure like to know exactly who voted for it, and against it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you talking about the Brady Bill? I don't think there was a tie in the Senate on that one. Maybe on an amendment, but the bill passed, IIRC, by a pretty wide margin.

The most recent instance of Gore breaking a tie vote that I know of, in the Senate was for the Lautenberg amendment (S.AMDT.362) which would end gun shows as we know them. This was an amendment to S.254, the Juvenile Justice Bill which was passed by the Senate with amendments by a Yea-Nay Vote of 73-25.

Hope this helps. If not, search around on http://thomas.loc.gov for info on past Congressional matters.

TBM,

The Brady law, and the Assault Weapon Contol bill were all part of a HUGE omnibus "Criminal Justice Reform Bill," signed by His Slitheriness, in 1994. It was a boon-doggle in the range of 31++ Billion in new expenditures. It included Feinswine's Assault Weapon importation ban.

Damn! I wish I could remember the enabling bill number. Then I could lok it up in Thomas'

Thanks, anyway

Feinsteins Assault Weapons Ban? Or Republican President George Bush's Assualt Weapons Ban?

I always get them confused.

The infamous '94 law that banned importation of semi-automatic military replica rifles.

Bush left in '92; This was on Slick Willy's watch.
