Hi guys:

I have a very nice gun that my father gave me. It is a 7x57 mauser action and it was hand made in Austria back in 1955 and it has a very nice eagle claw scope mount system on it. The scope has been lost and I have the base. I am looking for someone who is skilled in making a claw system to fit the base on my rifle.

If you can point me in the right direction that would be great!

I have done them in the past. I would need to see pictures of the gun before I will say I could do it, but I have done them in the past. Things to know:
* 2-claw or 3-claw front mount?
* 2-claw or 3-claw rear mount?
* What type of lock on the rear mount?

Some good pictures are worth a thousand words.

Then decide what type of scope you want to put on it. 1" or 30mm?

Finally, they are not cheap, because it is mostly hand-fitting.

Dads has a ton of scroll work . a very nice walnut stock double trigger setup and the original claw was set high so the iron sites could be used. i would prefer the lower setting scope mounts so I can set it up with a Zeiss Conquest.

I live 33 miles north of the Arctic Circle in the middle of Noatak National Park and we hunt the Western Arctic Caribou Herd-WACH as well as sheep and moose. I want to take dads gun out and give it a try!

What can you tell me 7MMNUT?

I have a customer who just bought a set of claw mounts from Germany they were spendy but the company sells on the net. If you want the name let me know and I ask him.

The ONLY folks qualified to do claw Mount work in the US is NECG as Jim Watson stated. We send all of our claw mount work to them despite our fully equipped machine shop.
