I "need" a 9MM auto...

I don't have a 9MM auto yet. I thought I had made up my mind to buy a Glock 26 at the next gun show since I've been so happy with my G27. However, I have read posts that state that the Kahr MK9 is about the same weight when loaded. The Kahr is obviously flatter too. Other shooters seem to like the Kahr and the warranty.
Opinions please?

Thanks,

Variety is the spice of life!

Since you already have the G27, why not go with the MK9? Fine, well-built, all-steel little guns; never seen one of the K/MK Kahrs break.

I've kinda got a hankerin' after an MK40 myself. ;)

I knew it was only a matter of time before you came around. I recall you saying some time back you didn't really want a 9MM. I still haven't gotten a G26 but will soon. Saw them for around $475 at the last gunshow. I should get my unissued Bulgarian Mak next week so that will keep me busy for awhile. Then the G26 or maybe the Taurus Titanium 850 CIA...

Yeah well, you know me Tom...

I don't really know the reason. Maybe I'm trying to get a few fine examples in every caliber. (Maybe I'm nuts!) It seems like EVERYBODY but me has a 9MM.

Tamara: Good argument. Variety, I like that. By the way, you were completely right about that 731UL. It's a good shooter! Very little recoil.

After going to the gun show myself this past weekend and handling many fine handguns I HAVE to get a Sig P239 9mm what a sweet feeling weapon feels like an extension of my hand very sweet pointability too.Be a nice CCW piece too.

I have the MK40. Really a nice gun. Top shelf. Almost exactly the same size as the MK9 but 1 oz heavier in the slide. The recoil is harder to take than a nine would be too. However, I don't think you can beat the steel Kahr's.

How'd you get the Sig catalogue? I wrote to them in September asking for one and I still haven't gotten anything!

I requested one through their website should arrive any day.I Gotta have one and since I should get my CCW from Tallahassee in a few weeks that just might be my carry weapon a P239.

I think that it would really be worth your while to handle a Kahr. I have just fell in love all over again. I have yet had the pleasure of shooting one but WOW did it feel nice. I dry fired it and the trigger was not bad. Not bad at all.

Check out the CZ-85 Combat. Has the overall size and ergonomic feel of a BHP with a smoother (DA/SA) trigger. All steel, ADJ sights, nice gun for only about $425.

KR,

I was under the impression you wanted a highly concelabale gun for CCW. I have both the BHP and and a CZ85 Combat. I love them both. Don't get me wrong but for concealed carry they are a little large.

See if you can fondle a Kahr. I don't like aluminum frames too much and that's what you will get with a SIG. I'm sure they are lighter but the Kahr is really nice. Check it out.

I'll second all the votes for the kahr, but don't ignore the SiGs, especially the 228/226 'classics.' trying to carry the P228, but the Kahr is still more comfortable to wear all day.

I have the 220 and 228 and now 'need' the 226.

I got a 9mm P239 when they first came out....never shot it much and sold it pretty quickly, due to lack of school funds. Still kicking myself for getting rid of it too soon.

While on the subject, I handled a P225 at a recent gunshow and thought the slimmer grip actually felt nicer than the P228 grip, but still seems too bulky for CCW.

I love my SiGs, but.......the Kahr is still more accurate. And still accompanies me everyday.

Thanks for the replies, guys...

I did go to my gun shop and handle an MK9. It felt good. Also, holsters seem to be plentiful. LOTS of choices. Pretty nice to get all positve comments. Makes one feel good about the Kahr choice.

Foxy: I got the nice Sig catalog by requesting it on their website. It's a great catalog, too. Even has their rifles featured.
Thick catalog. Great info and pictures. I'm kinda surprised they give it away free.
